DUAL-ACCESS REACTOR & MIXER OPERATING PLATFORM

Project Type:

Dual-Access Reactor & Mixer Operating Platform

Location:

Basel (Pharmaceutical & Chemical Basin), Switzerland

Tonnage :

14 Tons

Software:

Tekla Structures (LOD 400)

Scope:

3D Modeling, Shop Drawings & CNC Data

Engineered to service heavy vertical reactors and mixing vessels within an advanced pharmaceutical and chemical processing facility in Basel, this highly compact structural steel operating platform balances extreme dynamic payload capacity with superior operator ergonomics. Modeled strictly to LOD 400 detail within Tekla Structures, the structure features massive primary column bents and heavy-duty transfer girders designed to absorb the intense centrifugal forces and operational vibrations generated by the active machinery.

The primary structural detailing challenge was integrating reinforced floor penetration cut-outs for dual circular vessels and a central equipment well without compromising the diaphragm rigidity of the main operating deck. Our BIM engineering team detailed highly stiffened bolted moment connections, a stepped maintenance sub-deck for overhead motor access, and dual symmetrical access stairways ensuring rapid operator circulation and compliant emergency egress. Fully aligned with Swiss SIA 263, EN 1993, and DIN EN ISO 14122 safety standards, the digital package delivered automated DSTV/NC1 profiling data and modular assembly sequences, guaranteeing rapid, zero-weld installation during highly restricted plant shutdown windows.
