MULTI-TIER HEAVY INDUSTRIAL PROCESS & EQUIPMENT PLATFORM

Project Type:

Multi-Tier Industrial Process & Equipment Platform

Location:

Dortmund (Ruhr Industrial Basin), Germany

Tonnage :

31 Tons

Software:

Tekla Structures (LOD 400)

Scope:

3D Modeling, Shop Drawings & CNC Data

Engineered to support heavy processing equipment, high-capacity motor units, and industrial pump skids within a major manufacturing plant in Dortmund’s industrial corridor, this multi-tier structural steel platform pairs maximum dynamic stiffness with safe operational access. Modeled strictly to LOD 400 precision within Tekla Structures, the structure integrates heavy-duty primary column bents, rigid knee-braced connections, and dedicated green equipment skid framing designed to absorb continuous operational vibrations without harmonic resonance.

The primary structural detailing challenge was resolving localized high-point loads and equipment-induced mechanical thrusts while maintaining unobstructed clearances for routine plant maintenance. Our BIM engineering team detailed reinforced bar-grating layouts fully compliant with DIN EN ISO 14122 safety standards, robust moment-resisting splice nodes, and an integrated multi-tier access stair tower complete with continuous kickplates and safety handrails. Delivered with automated DSTV/NC1 profiling data and modular crane-lift schedules, the structural package ensured rapid, zero-hot-work bolted installation during tight scheduled plant shutdown windows.
