MULTI-TIER INDUSTRIAL PROCESS & SILO ACCESS PLATFORM

Project Type:

Multi-Tier Industrial Process & Vessel Access Platform

Location:

Antwerp (Chemical & Process Corridor), Belgium

Tonnage :

12 Tons

Software:

Tekla Structures (LOD 400)

Scope:

3D Modeling, Shop Drawings & CNC Data

Engineered to provide secure operational access to vertical process vessels, reactors, and storage silos within an industrial processing plant in Antwerp’s chemical cluster, this multi-tier structural steel platform combines high payload capacity with uncompromised maintenance ergonomics. Modeled strictly to LOD 400 precision within Tekla Structures, the structure integrates heavy-duty primary stanchions, lateral knee-braced bents for operational vibration damping, and high-capacity industrial bar-grating decks.

The primary structural detailing challenge was coordinating reinforced floor penetration cut-outs—including two circular vessel openings on the top deck and an expansive rectangular equipment well on the intermediate tier—without compromising floor diaphragm rigidity. Our BIM engineering team detailed stiffened moment nodes, continuous industrial access stair flights with standardized kickplates, and perimeter safety handrails fully compliant with DIN EN ISO 14122 regulations. Aligned with NBN EN 1993 Eurocode specifications, the digital deliverable supplied automated DSTV/NC1 files for automated plate nesting and CNC drilling, ensuring rapid, zero-hot-work bolted field assembly during tight scheduled plant shutdown windows.
