MULTI-TIER ASYMMETRIC INDUSTRIAL PROCESS & VESSEL ACCESS PLATFORM

Project Type:

Multi-Tier Asymmetric Process & Vessel Support Platform

Location:

Ludwigshafen (Chemical & Process Corridor), Germany

Tonnage :

45 Tons

Software:

Tekla Structures (LOD 400)

Scope:

3D Modeling, Shop Drawings & CNC Data

Engineered to service heavy chemical reactors, vertical process vessels, and product silos within a major processing facility in Ludwigshafen’s chemical corridor, this multi-tier structural steel platform combines high operational payload capacity with ergonomic maintenance access. Modeled strictly to LOD 400 detail within Tekla Structures, the structure features an asymmetric, tiered geometry comprising an expansive lower staging deck and a multi-level vertical access core engineered to withstand severe equipment dynamic thrusts and thermal pipe stresses.

The primary structural detailing challenge was coordinating reinforced floor penetration cut-outs and radial framing to accommodate vertical vessels without compromising floor diaphragm stiffness. Our BIM engineering team detailed heavy-duty moment connections, knee-braced column bents, and high-capacity bar-grating layouts fully compliant with DIN EN ISO 14122 regulations. Continuous multi-flight industrial stairs, standardized toe-boards, and perimeter fall-protection rails were integrated with millimeter clearance against adjacent mechanical piping. The digital deliverable supplied automated DSTV/NC1 files and segmented crane-lift assembly sequences, ensuring rapid, zero-hot-work bolted erection during critical plant maintenance outages.
